Crystalgrit is a blastcleaning abrasive made of the natural mineral specular hematite, a 100% inert form of iron oxide.
The sharp grains and the high specific density give a high cutting speed at a low consumption per m².
Specular hematite is also very suitable for ballasting purposes.
Unlike metallic abrasives, Crystal grit does not give rise to rust formation when used under damp or wet conditions. Hematite has strong water-repellent (hydrophobic) properties. As a consequence, a surface treated with Crystal grit will retain its quality before receiving its first coating. In some applications, you can wait several days!
